SPI 2015: Can your smart phone increase solar tracker energy production?

September 14, 2015

If you think the answer to this question is ‘no,’ think again! Thanks to SunLink’s new suite of SureLink smart device applications, tracker projects employing SunLink ViaSol Trackers now offer remote diagnostic capabilities and precise tracker controls from any Internet-connected smart device.

Interested in giving it a try for yourself? Be sure to come by the SunLink booth (#2522) at Solar Power International (SPI) in Anaheim from September 15-17, 2015, to remotely control one of the industry’s most highly regarded tracker products — the SunLink ViaSol Tracker. While there, be sure to check out the full portfolio of SunLink solar project solutions on display – from leading fixed tilt ground mount products to innovative rooftop racking solutions.

If you are interested in seeing SunLink rooftop solutions in action, all you need to do is look to the roof of the Anaheim Convention Center. Along with project partners Borrego and Yingli, SunLink is proud to bring a “Solar Powered SPI” to SPI attendees this year.

The 2.4 MW array was installed one year ago and has been generating clean, renewable energy for Anaheim Public Utilities ever since. In its first year alone, the array has powered over 160 events held within the Convention Center. An even more impressive fact for the array – it is the largest city-owned solar installation on a convention center in North America, covering 300,000 square feet of rooftop. SunLink’s roof-mount solution was critical in maximizing energy harvest for this flat roof application, as were the engineering support services provided by SunLink to ensure the system built by Borrego was installed with ease.

Those registered for the SPI Conference may join a tour of the massive solar array during the session, “Solar Power on Public Rooftops: Anaheim Convention Center Leads the Way,” held Thursday, September 17th from 9am-10am local time. (Capacity is limited for this special opportunity.) Also during that time, SunLink will be presenting at the “Racking and Tracking Walking Session,” where attendees will hear from SunLink VP of Products and Services Kate Trono and others about the future of racking and tracking technologies.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Solar Powered SPI!
